We are working on our new local plan for Lichfield District, which will take us up to 2043 and are looking for residents, community groups and businesses to share their views.
All councils have a duty to prepare and adopt a local plan for their areas and once adopted, our new local plan will replace the current adopted plan.
Our timeline for our new local plan is set out within our local development scheme.
Give your views on the issues and options
We are currently consulting on our issues and options document - this is your opportunity to have a say on what you think the key issues are that the new local plan will need to address and how this can be done.
We have published several supporting documents:
- Issues and options spatial portrait
- Sustainability appraisal
- Habitat regulations assessment
- Equality impact assessment
How to give your views
Take part in our short survey by downloading and reading a summary of our issues and options document and then complete our online survey that asks you to answer five questions:
- Where should we build new homes?
- Where should new employment opportunities be located?
- What infrastructure improvements do you believe are essential to support growth?
- What features or areas would you most like to see protected?
- How do you envision Lichfield District looking by 2043?
Please make sure you fill in our survey no later than 11 December 2024 at 11.59pm.
Alternatively, you can comment on the detailed document on our online portal.
If you can't view the documents online, you can also view hard copies of the consultation document in our reception at District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield and Burntwood Leisure Centre, High Street, Chasetown, Burntwood.
