What is Overview & Scrutiny? Overview & Scrutiny, is a process that makes sure decisions taken by the council reflect the opinions, wishes and priorities of the people of our district.
Our Overview & Scrutiny Committees have an important role to play in providing local accountability, openness and involvement in decision-making and improving results for people living in our district.
Scrutiny committees are made up of councillors who understand the concerns of the people who elected them. Their role is to act as a critical friend, and to provide support to make sure decisions are carried out correctly. Sometimes they may recommend a different course of action.
Overview & Scrutiny Committees are not decision making bodies.
If you require agendas, agenda items and/or minutes from meetings dating back more than one year please contact the Committee Team on 01543 308064/308065 who will be able to supply them.
