We do not own any council housing. Instead, we work with approved housing associations who provide social housing locally. These are also called registered social landlords.

The majority of housing association properties in Lichfield District are let through the Lichfield District Homes register - find out how to register

Concerns about repairs and maintenance on a housing association home

  • If you live in a housing association home and have concerns about repairs and maintenance, please contact your housing association through their repairs process to give them a chance to put it right - their repairs process will be detailed on their website.
  • We recommend you keep a record of your correspondence and key dates. .
  • If you have been through the repairs process and your concerns have not been addressed, we then recommend you raise a complaint with your housing assocation through their formal complaint process - this will be detailed on their website.
  • Again, we recommend you keep a record of your correspondence and key dates.
  • If you have been through the repairs process and complaints process, and your issues have still not been addressed, you can escalate your complaint to the Housing Ombudsman.
  • Alternatively, if you are living in unsafe or uninhabitable conditions that breach the housing health and safety ratings system (HHSRS) and need urgent attention to safeguard you and/or your family's wellbeing, you can reach out to us and we may be able to offer support.

To contact us email enquiries@lichfielddc.gov.uk . Please provide as much detail as possible, including when you first raised the repairs request, when you first raised a formal complaint, and if possible please provide copies of the complaints responses you have received, plus any photographs or evidence you would like us to look at.

We are sorry but we are not able to support you if you have already reached out to the Ombudsman or solicitors.
