It’s really easy to sign up online - you will be asked for your debit/credit card to make a payment. We will then send you a sticker to put on your bin within 10 working days. You can also sign up by phone on 0345 002 0022, however you should find it's much easier online.

We are really sorry that we have not been able to empty bins this week due to the slippery and icy conditions which have meant is has not been safe for our crews, our trucks or the public.
Now that conditions have improved, we are beginning to clear the backlog of blue and black bins, starting with the rounds we missed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We won't be emptying bins that were due a collection on Friday (15 Dec) until we have cleared the backlog.
If we have not emptied your blue or black bins this week, please leave them out over the weekend and early next week, until we have emptied them - we will take extra black/blue bin waste if bagged and placed next to your bin.
So that we can empty blue and black bins in readiness for Christmas when households generate even more waste, we have suspended all garden waste collections until after Christmas.
Because we know some people may not sign up to the garden waste scheme next year, we will be putting on a special garden waste collection from 8 January for two weeks, so that anyone who is not subscribing can have their garden bin emptied before their collections stop. People should refer to their recycling calendar and put their brown bin(s) out on what would be their normal garden waste collection day on the weeks commencing 8 January or 15 January.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding. To subscribe to the garden waste service to receive alternate weekly collections throughout 2018 for £36 per brown bin, visit our online form.

In this section you can find information on the work that our Housing Strategy Team does to understand and address housing needs in the district.
We produce a range of strategies and plans, which outline how we will work in partnership to meet our priorities for housing that are set in our Housing Strategy 2013 – 17.
We also work with our housing association partners to try to develop a wide range of new affordable homes.
In addition to this we monitor the number of empty homes in the district, and work to try and bring them back into use. For more information, see the empty properties page.
