Please note, Shopmobility will close for Christmas on Friday 23 December 2016 until Tuesday 3 January 2017.
If you have a mobility problem, and find it difficult to navigate around Lichfield city centre, our shopmobility scheme may be able to help you.
Shopmobility offers anyone with a mobility problem a place to park, and the use of a motorised mobility scooter or manual/push wheelchair for the day. We also offer one electric wheelchair.
It costs £5 for an annual membership and then £1 each time you use the service.
It is based at Birmingham Road multi storey car park, which is off Birmingham Road and Frog Lane in Lichfield.
We are currently conducting a review of our shopmobility service and thank you to everyone who gave us their views. We will publish the outcome of the review in autumn 2016.
Hiring hours and how to book
Shopmobility is very popular and scooters are issued on a first come, first served basis.
If you want to use a shopmobility scooter, you must book/reserve your scooter or wheelchair 24 hours in advance.
You can reserve a scooter/wheelchair anytime between 9am to 4.15pm, Monday - Saturday. Shopmobility is not available on Sundays.
Parking is free when using the service, provided your valid Blue Badge is correctly displayed.
To reserve a scooter, please call 07779 333807 to book.
New users - how to register
If you've never used our Shopmobility service before, you'll need to register before you use a scooter.
All you need to do is book a date to come in for a short training/induction session on how to use the scooters/wheelchairs.
You will also need to bring two forms of identification with you that show your name and address. These could include a recent household utility bill, a driver's license or a passport.
As part of your induction session, you will also need to fill in a short form and disclaimer.
