If you own or run a business, even if it is from your home, you must make arrangements for your business waste and recycling to be disposed of by a licenced waste management company.
From 31 March 2025, all* businesses and workplaces have a legal duty to dispose of their waste separately as follows:
- dry recyclable materials - plastic, metal, glass, paper and card
- non-recyclable waste
- garden/green waste
- food waste
*Micro businesses have to comply by 31 March 2027 - micro businesses are those that have less than ten full time employees in total across their organisation (including all premises they run and own).
