Community safety research

A police officer offers safety advice to two friends out for the evening in Lichfield's Bird Street.

Impera Analytics are leading a project to create a community-led community safety strategy, on behalf of our community safety partnership - and we need your help!

We are recruiting community members to become community researchers to gather local views and insights about their areas.

As a community researcher, you will have the opportunity to engage with people in your community by having five conversations with local people in safe settings, such as at existing community events, in schools, or with people you know through local clubs or groups. Your role will be to listen to their thoughts on community safety and document their views.

Once you've completed your conversations, you will share your findings with the team at Impera, who will use this feedback to inform the development of a community safety strategy that will inform action local partner agencies take to help improve safety and the feeling of safety in communities across our district.

What's involved?

If you want to get involved, you will receive:

  • An in-person evening training session from 4pm-7pm on either Monday 24th or Tuesday 25th February.
  • Online support throughout the research process.
  • An in-person evening feedback session from 4pm - 7pm on Thursday 20 March.
  • A gift voucher as a thank you for your time and contributions.

To express your interest, please email us at community.safety@lichfielddc.gov.uk

We are also directly reaching out to individuals from our partner agencies to ensure we have a diverse group of researchers that reflect our entire community.

We’d love for you to be a part of this important project - help us make our community safer for everyone!

We are also carrying out an online questionnaire which will be published here soon, so if you don't have time to get involved as a researcher, you can still have your say!
