Alternatively, if you need urgent care but it’s not life-threatening, contact NHS 111 online service call 111, or visit your GP.
Other urgent support services
These services are free and offer confidential advice from trained volunteers. You can talk about anything that's troubling you, no matter how difficult:
- Call 116 123 to talk to Samaritans, or email: jo@samaritans.org for a reply within 24 hours.
- Text "SHOUT" to 85258 to contact the Shout Crisis Text Line, or text "YM" if you're under 19.
- If you're under 19, you can also call 0800 1111 to talk to Childline. The number will not appear on your phone bill.

North Staffs Mind is an independent mental health charity that has been providing services in and beyond North Staffordshire for over 40 years. The team deliver a range of trusted, specialist support to over 8,000 people every year. They believe that no one should face a mental health issue alone.

- Mental Health Foundation - Provides information and support for anyone with mental health problems or learning disabilities.
- Mental health and money advice service - Free, impartial information, support and advice for people affected by mental health and money issues.
- No Panic - Voluntary charity offering support for sufferers of panic attacks and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Offers a course to help overcome your phobia or OCD. Phone: 0844 967 4848 (daily, 10am to 10pm). Calls cost 5p per minute plus your phone provider's Access Charge
