Approved providers policy
Since the transfer of our housing stock to HomeZone Housing Association in 1997 (now known as Bromford), we have worked closely with Homes England and our approved housing association development partners maintain an affordable housing development programme. We provide properties in all areas of the district, both for rent and shared ownership.
We also work alongside our development services team to negotiate with housing developers to ensure new housing developments provide housing opportunities for a wider range of people. All new housing developments over 15 units, have to contain a mixture of rented, shared ownership and owner occupied properties.
Some developments have also included housing with support, for the more vulnerable people in society. These developments have been developed in partnership with Staffordshire County Council.
If you are interested in shared ownership - find out more.
All social rented properties in the district are allocated through Lichfield District Homes choice based lettings scheme - find out more.
Our approved providers policy sets out how we will approve new housing associations (also called registered providers) for housing development opportunities across the district, and how we will work together to deliver new affordable homes across the district.
