How to apply
Please have the following ready before you apply:
- a plan showing the location of the premises and the area of the pavement that you propose to use. Please remember that licences can only be granted for furniture that is on the pavement directly in front of the premises and where a width of at least 1.5 metres of pavement remains unobstructed. Any advertising board used by the business must be shown on the plan and within the area covered by the licence.
- a copy of your public liability insurance to the value of £5 million that covers the use of the pavement for this purpose.
- images to show the proposed furniture.
- your ACT Awareness e-learning certificate. You can complete this free training here.
Once you have these ready, please apply online.
There is currently no fee for a new pavement licence or for the renewal of a pavement licence until 31 March 2026.
