Self-build register
We keep a register of people who are interested in delivering self build or custom build projects in the district.
- Self-build usually means you are directly involved in organising the design and construction of your own home.
- Custom build usually means working with a specialist developer to help build your home.
Self build and custom housebuilding registers provide valuable information on the demand for self build and custom housebuilding in the local area. This information can help us to make decisions on planning, land disposal and regeneration going forward.
Once you are on the register we may contact you from time to time with updates about self-build and custom build. We may ask for confirmation of your continued interest in building in the district at certain intervals to ensure that the register remains accurate.
The register is not made public, although we may report headline data, such as the overall demand for self-build and custom build in Lichfield District in our annual monitoring report.
