High Speed 2 is a government backed scheme to develop a high speed rail line between Euston and Birmingham.
The route runs from Euston, London to a point just south of Handsacre in Lichfield District, where there will be a connection with the existing West Coast Mainline.
The interactive map shows the route of the new high-speed line, information about current HS2 works, progress of tunnelling machines and information about archaeological sites, environmental sites, HS2 funded community projects and property schemes.
If you have a question about HS2, please call the HS2 helpdesk team, available daily on 08081 434 434 or email hs2enquiries@hs2.org.uk.
Latest news
Following the announcement on 4 October 2023 that only the new line between Euston to Birmingham will be built, we are now working with our colleagues at HS2 to determine what this means for the district and the local work that has been carried out so far.
We will update this page as further information is released.
