Your flexible, on-demand bus service for rural villages
Our LinkUp on-demand bus service connects our rural villages to our high streets and is being delivered on our behalf by wemove.
Perfect for those in areas with fewer public transport options, LinkUp provides a convenient and greener way to reach Lichfield, Burntwood, and any other destination nearby.
Whether you’re off to the shops, meeting friends, or need to connect to wider travel networks, LinkUp is here to make your journey easy.
It’s a bit like booking a taxi, but you will share your transport with others, just as you would share a bus. The LinkUp service takes you to your destination from your nearest fixed or virtual bus stop.
- LinkUp bus operates:
- 9am - 5pm, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays.
- 9am - 7pm, Thursday, Fridays & Saturdays.
- We are sorry but the service does not operate on Sundays or bank holidays.
- LinkUp buses are accessible for wheelchair users, buggies and bikes, with drop floors and a dedicated space for wheelchairs.
- Assistance dogs (or those in training) are welcome on board.
- For those travelling with children, please let us know if any special arrangements are needed.

Booking and paying is really easy
You either need to book on the LinkUp app or call our team to set up an account and make a booking - you cannot hail a LinkUp bus.
To book:
- Download the LinkUp app - search for LinkUp On Demand - DRT in Lichfield & Burntwood in the App store or LinkUp on Demand (Spare Labs Inc.) in Google Play.
- Use this guide if you have any issues downloading to an Android device.
- Call 0808 134 6632, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Standard call charges apply.
- Visit linkup.lichfielddc.gov.uk
- Whilst you can pay by cash on board, all journeys must be booked in advance. If you want to pay by cash, just select 'pay on board' when booking and pay the driver as you board.
- You can book a ride up to seven days in advance or as late as 30 minutes before you want to set off, however we do recommend booking as early as possible so as not to be disappointed if the service is already fully booked.
- If you are a wheelchair user or are bringing a buggy or bike on board, please let us know at the time of booking - just tick the appropriate box if booking online or on the app.
Cost
- £3 per journey.
- Children 11 and under, and concession bus pass holders can travel free of charge but must book - please bring your pass onto the bus to show the driver.
- Any children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.
