If you have registered for a postal vote, your pack has now been sent and is on its way to your registered address.

If you haven't had yours yet, and you want a replacement postal vote pack (e.g., you are going on holiday before it will reach you), please email elections@lichfielddc.gov.uk with your name, address, contact details, reason for replacement and an image of a valid photo ID. We will contact you when the replacement is ready to collect, from the council office - please bring your ID with you.

If collecting on behalf of someone else, you will need to provide photo identification for you both, together with a signed letter authorising collection.

The easiest way to return your completed postal vote is in your nearest post box, but you can hand deliver it to the council offices during office hours, or at a polling station on election day. If you hand deliver it, you will need to complete a statutory form - our staff will help you with this, so you may have to wait a short while.

The deadline for new postal applications has now passed, however, if you are taken ill or get an unexpected work commitment which will prevent you from attending the polling station, you can apply for an emergency proxy application - a doctor or your employer will need to support your application.

You must show photo ID to vote at polling stations in the general election on 4 July 2024. Common photo IDs that you can use include:

Passport (this doesn't need to be in date, but it needs to be recent enough to look like you)
Driving licence (including provisional license)
Blue badge
Specific travel cards (such as an older person’s bus pass or disabled person’s bus pass)

Thank you to everyone who gave their views on Lichfield District 2050 strategy which was approved by Full Council on 14 May 2024, along with our one-year delivery plan which sets out what we will achieve between May 2024 and May 2025.

Our Lichfield District 2050 strategy is a call to action for everyone

It a collective commitment to make Lichfield District the most confident, prosperous, active, and green part of the country by 2050 - a place which other parts of the United Kingdom aspire to be by delivering four key priorities:

Confident communities - we will be the place where people across the UK aspire to live
Prosperous communities - we will enable Lichfield, Burntwood and our villages to flourish
Active communities - we will make Lichfield District the most active in the UK
Green communities - we will create the greenest district in the country

We know this will require hard work and investment, not just from the district council but from the county council, from our town, city and parish councils, our partners in the health and emergency services, our vital network of community, charity and third sector organisations who already contribute so much, and importantly from you, our residents. We cannot achieve and deliver the future we want for the district without you.
