Lichfield District Council will seek to engage with providers who will be able to promote and deliver to the economic, social, and environmental well-being of the district as part of the contract, as covered under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012.

The Council is looking for providers who can demonstrate that they have a clear understanding of Social Value, that it is embedded within their organisation, who can identify opportunities for delivering social value, take action to deliver against the opportunities and have a robust method for measuring the impact delivered.

Suppliers are asked to demonstrate where their organisation can meet Social Value considerations as part of the wider impact of services being delivered under their contracts, giving specific details of what will be delivered. The Lichfield District Council 2050 Strategy and Social Progress Index should be consulted to help with this process.

Services or works that the tenderer is required to provide as part of the core contract requirements cannot also be counted as additional social value. Social Value is about ‘additionality’ (what you will provide over and above the core contract.)

Suppliers are asked to provide specific details of the activities they will undertake, if successful, to support Lichfield District Council and the residents of the district with reference to the four key priorities below, as stated within the Lichfield District Council 2050 Strategy:

  • Confident Communities - Be the place where people across the UK aspire to live.
  • Prosperous Communities - Enable Lichfield, Burntwood and our villages to flourish.
  • Active Communities - Make Lichfield district the most active in the UK.
  • Green Communities - Create the greenest district in the country.

Lichfield District Council welcomes unique offers and ideas around how organisations can leave a lasting legacy for the district upon project completion.
