How have the community benefited from our contracts? Here are just a few examples.

Birmingham Road multi-storey car park demolition

We recently commissioned Cawarden to demolish the underused multi-story car park on Birmingham Road as part of larger plans to create a new public plaza in the city centre. The following video shows some of the social value they delivered as part of this project:

Video case study

In total they were able to deliver £1.12 million of social value for the local community.

New Leisure Centre at Stychbrook Park

The new leisure centre is being constructed by Stepnell. They have committed to support the local community by:

  • Hiring two local full time employees for the contract duration.
  • Engaging with local schools and colleges.
  • Providing career mentoring to local unemployed people.
  • Purchasing the majority of building supplies from local businesses (within 30 miles) of the construction site.
  • Supporting the local Greenway project.
  • Engaging with local charities.
  • And much more!

They have already worked with students from Chase Terrace academy to run a special 4-week project. They ran a competition with local schools to allow students to submit their designs, some of which feature on the hoarding for the site. Over the course of the project Stepnell aims to deliver £3.12 million of social value locally.
