Heroes Jerry Trill & the local community 2010 Carvings into sandstone Shortbutts Park, Lichfield Heroes is an ongoing piece started in 2010. It is inspired by iconography and relies upon the continuous carving of heroes' names into the soft sandstones by the community. As such it is never finished and will evolve over decades, as new 'heroes' emerge to replace old ones worn away by weather and time. Feel free to contribute to this piece by visiting Shortbutts Park and carving your heroes' names into the sandstones
Saint Chad Statue Peter Walker 2021 Bronze Lichfield Cathedral Made of bronze and standing 3m tall in The Close facing Dam Street to welcome visitors and pilgrims to the Cathedral, he holds a representation of the Cathedral’s famous 8th century St Chad Gospels in one hand with his other hand raised in blessing.
