Please fill in this expression of interest form if you are planning to host an outdoor event open to the public on public land, city/district streets, or in a district council owned park, that will:
- be open to the public and is likely to attract more than 499 people at any one time during the advertised opening hours.
- involve one or more consented activity (street trading, alcohol or entertainment) or may require a formal road closure.
How and when to submit an expression of interest
You can submit an expression of interest at any point, however we operate an 'expression of interest window’ in October each year, for events to be held during the following calendar year.
This ‘window’ allows us to manage the range, quality, and number of events during peak times.

We recommend you do not make any firm arrangements or take bookings until you have received confirmation as to whether your expression of interest has been successful.
If your expression of interest is successful we will expect you to positively work with us through the event planning process, including adhering to timescales for submitting an event management plan and engaging with/delivering requirements set out by members of the safety advisory group.
