Governance manager (monitoring officer)

Responsible for the council’s governance functions including the decision-making process including: 

  • Facilitating the decision-making process
  • Montoring officer statutory duties, including the constitution, member conduct and complaints, ensuring fairness in decision-making, ensuring access to information and transparent decision-making
  • Reporting and recording decisions
  • Maintenance of the forward plan
  • Member expenses, renumeration, support and training
  • Elections
  • Assets of community value
  • Community governance and boundary reviews
  • Civic events
  • Youth Council support
  • Support to, and liaison with parish councils
  • Road closures
  • Rights of way
