Start date: 18 March 2016

Closing date: 12 May 2016

Areas Affected

  • Lichfield District wide

We are keen that residents of the district get the best possible opportunities to be healthy, be active and play sport. Although the district has a relatively active population, the consequences of inactivity to people’s health and wellbeing are serious.

Our proposed new Draft Sports and Physical Activity Strategy will help inform future provision and development of sports facilities and activities, so it is important we get it right.

It describes the roles that the council will play in influencing, facilitating and delivering physical activities and sporting opportunities.  It also describes the contribution that we hope that clubs, schools, public agencies and other groups will play in ensuring that residents, young and old, male and female, are physically active.

Our Draft Sports and Physical Activity Strategy sets out a number of strategic aims and objectives including a delivery action plan and action plans for specific sports.
