LGO workforce

Over two years of positive transformation at Lichfield District Council has been recognised as it is announced it has been shortlisted in not just one but three categories at the LGC Workforce national awards that celebrate the very best in local government across the UK.

Lichfield District Council sees shortlisting in three categories:

  • Best Place To Work recognises an organisation that has gone the extra mile to ensure staff are engaged, supported and developed to their full potential in the interests of the communities they serve.
  • Chief Executive Simon Fletcher is shortlisted in the category of Workforce Innovator which celebrates substantial improvements in a local council and the commitment to innovation and change that the individual brings.
  • Project Support Officer Grace Hudson is shortlisted for Graduate of the Year recognising the hard work, commitment and team approach that she brings into work every day.

LGC Workforce is an annual conference and awards ceremony which showcases the finest examples of service delivered every day by councils through innovations in recruitment, staff retention, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.

Chief Executive Simon Fletcher said: “It is pleasing to see our investment in improving our organisational culture recognised through the shortlisting for these prestigious awards.

“We have made tremendous progress over the past few years making significant changes which continue to inspire and empower our workforce, which in turn creates a greater commitment from them to improving services to our residents.

"We want to be employer of choice in our region and hopefully recognition through awards like these encourages the best of local government to want to work for Lichfield District Council.”
