A Citizens Advice Bureau delegation from Gibraltar received a warm welcome when their local counterparts hosted a twinning event at Lichfield’s District Council House.

Staff from Citizens Advice South East Staffordshire (CASES) met with members of the Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau’s senior team on Wednesday 13 November for a day of discussion aimed at sharing expertise and best practice.

The two organisations, which are twinned, gave presentations in the Council Chamber to CASES staff and volunteers, and partners including representatives from North Warwickshire Citizens Advice, Lichfield Food Bank and Lichfield District Council.

The three delegates from Gibraltar – Ivan Navas (Chairman of Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau Board of Trustees), Pili Rodriguez (Chief Executive of Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau and Chair of Citizens Advice International) and Ivan Cruz (Deputy Chief Executive of Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau) – were then taken to view the operation at Lichfield Food Bank before visiting the Gibraltar Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum and Lichfield Cathedral.

Ivan Navas said:

“The excellent programme provided for our visit has enriched and strengthened our bond of friendship and cooperation as twinned entities. We very much look forward to developing fruitful working relationships between the members of our respective organizations for the benefit of the communities we serve.”

John Griffiths, Chair of Citizens Advice South East Staffordshire, added:

“We were delighted to host our twin colleagues from Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau to extend our hand of friendship, but more importantly to collaborate with the aim of benefiting both sets of communities and to twin individual staff and volunteers to exchange more detailed best working practice.”
