Can I apply by post?
You can still submit planning applications by post, but it is a more complicated process, and we strongly recommend you consider applying online through the government's Planning Portal website.
To apply by post, please send two copies of your completed planning application forms, required documents and plans to our offices by post or in person. Please ensure that your application is accurate, complete and contains two copies of all drawings. This will help us deal with your application much quicker.

- What happens when you apply for planning permission
In most cases you will have to pay a fee when you apply for planning permission. Application fees are set by the government and are the same for all councils across the country. If you are still unsure about how much you need to pay, you use the Planning Portal's fee calculator.
When we receive your application we will check it to make sure it is accurate and complete. If there are any problems we will let you know as soon as possible and explain what you need to do.
If there are no problems, we will write to you to acknowledge we have received your application. Then we will allocate a case officer to deal with your application.
