Racist, discriminatory, libellous and threatening comments
Please be aware all comments we receive are automatically published on our planning system (personal details including email address, signature and telephone numbers are automatically redacted).
If you are submitting comments, it is your responsiblity to ensure they could not be percieved to be offensive, racist, discriminatory, libellous or threatening, and focus purely on your support or objection in relation to planning matters.
We sometimes find that where there are neighbour disputes people attempt to use planning comments as a way of airing their grievances in public. This is not appropriate and the fact you don't like someone, feel someone behaves inappropriately, feel someone is unneighbourly, or even that someone is doing something underhanded (like applying for retrospective planning permission) is not a planning matter. We we will not take such matters into consideration when considering the planning application - so please do submit comments that include such matters - find out more about what we cannot consider.
If you choose to submit such comments and anyone takes offence, action will be taken against you the author, and the council accepts no responsiblity for the published comments.
If you include such comments, please also be aware that these may be later redacted by the case officer when they read your comments as part of assessing the application. Redaction is entirely at the case officer's discretion and only those matters that are not relevant to the determination of the planning application (and legally cannot be considered) will be redacted.
If you have any concerns about information that has been redacted, please email neighbour.responses@lichfielddc.gov.uk in the first instance for clarification on why the comments were removed, and if you have any further concerns, please submit a complaint. Please be aware however that we will not consider complaints where only non-planning matters have been redacted.
