You can only vote in elections if your name is on the register of electors.
If you are not registered to vote, for example you have moved house recently, or have just turned 18, you will need to register.

Registering is easy - you'll just need your National Insurance (NI) number and date of birth to hand.
- The easiest place to find your national insurance (NI) number is on official paperwork, such as your national insurance card, payslips or letters from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
- If you can’t find your national insurance number, visit the HMRC enquiry service and they will post it to you.
