I've moved address, am I still registered?

You will need to register again with your new address. Even if you have told the Council you have moved address for council tax purposes or other, unfortunately this information cannot be shared across as electoral registration uses a separate process and system.

You will still be registered to vote at your previous address if you have not re-registered.

I am a University student, can I register?

University students can register at both their university and home addresses, but can only vote in one location.

If you are a student, it is important that you check you have the right voting option in place. For example, if you have chosen to vote by post, you need to make sure you will be at that address in time to return your vote. 

I've registered but it is still not showing on my credit report, why?

Credit agencies receive a monthly file from us with details of any changes.

Once sent, it is up to the credit agency to update their records according to their internal processes and timelines.

How do I register if I don't have a fixed address?

If you have no fixed address you can still register to vote.

You will be asked to make a declaration of local connection, to show that you are connected to and spend time at a particular place.

You can normally do this only for one place. Register to vote on gov.uk

I don't know my date of birth, how can I register?

If you do not know your date of birth, you may have been given an official one and this can be used to register to vote.

This can be found on paperwork, such as your passport, adoption certificate, driving licence or naturalisation certificate.

If you do not have one, you will need to explain why you are unable to provide when you register. Register to vote on gov.uk
