The electoral register

The electoral register or electoral roll is a record of everyone who is registered to vote in an election.

Your name must be on the electoral register if you want to vote. Register to vote on gov.uk.

The Electoral Registration Officer makes and keeps two versions of the electoral register.

  • The full electoral register lists everyone who is entitled to vote.
  • The open register can be bought by anyone who asks for a copy and they may use it for any purpose. You can opt of your details appearing on the open register.
